Our intensive weekend courses run every month and get you TEFL certified in a weekend! Our weekend course is located in or downtown campus, with classes running on both Saturday and Sunday from 9am-8pm with a lunch break in between.

So what is studied?
Your weekend course is an intensive version of our standard version. With small class sizes (no larger than 5 students) you are tutored, rather than taught, the principles of teaching in China. Your experienced TEFL trainer guides you through your weekend course with continual support and motivation from your fellow students.
Not only will you learn how to prepare and deliver an EFL/ESL lesson, but you will also gain valuable insight into the essential aspects of second language acquisition.

What is the focus?
Our weekend classes main focus is on classplan preparation, lesson planning and class structures. In such a short time frame we take the most important practical components of TEFL and refine it with in class observation and teaching.
When are where

We run weekend courses once every month, and any other time if students need more convenient times. With small class sizes (maximum of 5 students) we provide a personal and motivating classroom experience.

We run our weekend courses in our Puxi campus, near Jingan Temple.
The weekend course is an intensive program, so is a structured course compromising in-class TEFL training, class observation and teaching. A standard weekend course usually looks like the following:

About Shanghai

Not really needing an introduction, Shanghai is sexy, confident and one of the world’s great cities. Shanghai is a great place to start your China adventure, or to locate for good. Our school is located downtown, next to Metro line 3, and is only a few minutes away from all this great city has to offer.

Accomodation
We recommend a Youth hostel, about a 2 minutes walk to the school. One of the nicest hostels we’ve been in, rooms are clean, affordable and the staff is friendly. There is a great bar for meeting new friends and lockers and security for all your belongings. Private rooms about 3000rmb a month, Dorms about 1500rmb a month

Shanghais nightlife matches Londons, and its culture matches Beijings. But we know you are interested in studying Chinese and discovering Chinese culture so we offer language classes while you study your TEFL.

Price
The one month intensive inclass TEFL program is $990usd. This doesn’t include accommodation and language study, which is optional.

When?
Our classes commence at the start of every month and last for 24 days. You cover all the modules as an online course, plus a final presentation of a week’s class plans

What will the course include?
The course will include both practical and theoretical parts to the course, so when you leave the school you will be confident entering the classroom. Drawing upon the most current developments in EFL learning theory and teaching methodology, this course covers everything from teaching simple vocabulary to younger learners to teaching industry-specific business English to corporate executives.

You will be trained in various approaches to teaching vocabulary, grammar, reading, phonetics and pronunciation, conversation, listening comprehension, idioms, and communicative language learning, as well as the effective use and adaptation of instructional materials, developing lesson plans, presentation skills, interactive classroom activities, the use of visual and other learning aids, student-assessment techniques, and various advanced teaching styles.

Students will have an opportunity to put into practice the principles they learn through peer teaching and twelve hours of actual classroom teaching practice in affiliated schools. Upon completion of the class, students will possess the knowledge, skills, and confidence to teach EFL effectively in any learning environment.

A TEFL Certificate will be issued to each student upon successful completion of the course and a smooth transition into your first post in China is guaranteed.
